Pets

Pets are such a huge part of our lives.  They make use laugh, greet us when we return from a long trip, and help us relax on our few, precious days off.  This page is dedicated to those furry (and some not-so-furry) friends that love us unconditionally.

Below you will find some of the best sites for our four-legged friends.  There’s lots of great stuff for your pet, both practical and luxurious.  Grab a snack (don’t forget one for your best friend) and check it out.

Dog food isn't just available in cans or giant bags of kibble anymore! Dogs have different needs, and so do their human companions, so the selection has widened (thankfully).  In case you would like to see what's available, and how they might fit into your lifestyle, here's a brief low-down on some of the more popular varieties on the natural dog food market:

Dry - The classic.  Convenient, and formulated to meet your dog's nutritional needs.  There are many high quality natural kibbles available now, too!  You can find natural formulas high in Omega fatty acids, tailored to puppies, large breeds, small breeds, working dogs, etc.

Can - Another classic!  Has a great shelf life, is convenient, often is formulated to meet your dog's nutritional needs without supplementation.  You can find grain-free formulas, gourmet entrees, certified organic formulas and human grade selections.

Dehydrated - More "space age"-- it marries the convenience of canned and dry formulas with the benefits of raw protein.  A great choice for those with limited storage or those who travel.  Generally fully balanced, so you just add water and let it re-hydrate before serving. Dehydration preserves the nutritional components of the meal better than cooking.

Mixes - A great option if you want to tailor your dog's meals.  These usually are in the form of dry whole grain mixes or dehydrated, and some formulas are certified organic, human grade, or even grain free. Generally you just need to add raw or cooked meat (or other protein), fruits or veggies if you want, plus a little water.  You can adjust the protein to suit your dog's changing needs and you can make a few meals at a time so you aren't required to slave in the kitchen for your pup.
